The Digital Marketing Foundation is a comprehensive 60 hour part-time Digital Marketing Certificate program, designed and taught by some of sharpest brains in the industry. The course is taught over 10 weeks in two weekly evenings sessions, and gives our students a solid understanding of the core skills needed to succeed in Digital Marketing.

Digital Marketing Foundation Overview

The Digital Marketing Foundation Program is designed for students who want to gain the practical skills necessary to develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy in a professional setting, leveraging the software, tools, tactics, and techniques used in today’s industry.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to create and track digital marketing campaigns, determine cost per acquisition of customers and users, and leverage campaign data to increase ROI, as well as gaining their Google Adwords and Analytics Certifications.

Katherine is a digital marketing professional, specializing in search engine and PPC marketing. Currently at Cossette, she leads a team that manages the search strategies of top CPG, retail and entertainment clients. This past year, she started a workshop-based event to help empower women through talks led by female industry leaders. She also founded Memory Ball and the Young Leaders Council of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto to help raise awareness for families living with Alzheimer’s (they have raised $310,000 for the Alzheimer Society of Toronto so far). In her spare time, Kat can be found eating her way through Toronto’s food scene or tearing up a dance floor near you.

RJ is an academic at heart and an entrepreneur in spirit. He is savvy and passionate in both web marketing and social media strategy, and comes with over five years of experience in these areas. Additionally, RJ is the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Grilled Cheese Affairs, a digital media strategy consulting agency. Before starting his own agency, he gained valuable international experience while living in Paris. When not crafting cool campaign ideas or building websites with clients, RJ likes to cook and try out new recipes to increase his culinary skills, shoot arrows at the archery range, and travel as much as possible (a portable career helps!).

Aashish launched his career working on various digital initiatives for Torstar Corp. Over 5 years with the company, he launched various digital marketing campaigns, implemented digital sales training and helped create a student-focused daily deal website. He was brought onto to their CPG division, focusing on taking products sold on television and managing their online sales, where he also managed multi-million media buys, digital marketing and email marketing. Following his passion for developing new brands and growing existing ones, Aashish takes a digital-first approach to traditional retail products. He most recently helped launch Endy Sleep, a CPG e-commerce startup based in Toronto.

Sarah is a well-rounded marketing professional with 7+ years of experience both creating and implementing digital strategies across affiliates, paid search, paid social, display and SEO. She currently leads a team at Loblaw Digital that manages all paid online media for Joe Fresh, and Click & Collect (Loblaws, Superstore & Zehrs). Prior to joining Loblaw, she worked at some of Canada’s other major retailers including Walmart and Indigo. Sarah is also currently Co–Chair for the annual charity event Get Lit – in support of First Book Canada, an organization focused on providing books to children who need them most. She’s also a huge Raptors fan and can be caught playing soccer at a field near you.

Richard is a born-and-raised Torontonian and leads business development for a startup called 500px, a global photography community. Richard studied business and political science at Western University. After working at Western University in Recruiting and Admissions, he returned back to Toronto to work in Consumer Goods Marketing at Johnson & Johnson. Richard was recently part of Google’s Marketing team, leading the growth of Think With Google – a site for marketers and advertisers to understand the latest trends in the digital advertising and marketing space. Outside of work, Richard can be found playing and watching sports and rock climbing.

Ali is an Account Manager with a focus on all things native advertising and content marketing related. She has 7 years working in various digital marketing aspects on both agency and client side in Digital Marketing with clients including Johnson & Johnson, Loblaws, and 20th Century Fox. Ali’s biggest digital interest lies in the ROI on content marketing and promotion. When not in the office, Ali can be found traveling, exploring new Toronto restaurants, running with a podcast (usually TED Talks and Freakonomics), and reading just about anything. Having been born and raised in the GTA, she has also lived in Dublin & Saskatoon.


What certifications do we receive?

Throughout the program, you will be getting certifications in Google Analytics, Google Adwords and Google Display Network.

What's the difference between full-time and part-time programs?

Our Foundation Programs are Part Time evening programs that run twice a week over 10 weeks, with a total of 60 hours of instruction. The programs are designed to give our students a hands-on introduction to the field of study. You will work on one major project throughout the duration of the program.

Our Professional Programs are 12 week Full Time programs, designed to produce entry-level professionals, who can hit the ground running, and play a meaningful role within a company from day one. The Professional Programs include 480 hours of instruction and lab time in the school, and will involve 5 major projects, and include significant professional development time to prepare you for life in the tech industry.

How is RED different?

RED stands for Real Education and Development. We offer a totally unique approach to learning; our school more closely resembles a real-world agency than what you might expect in a traditional learning environment. Our curriculum is also very different in that it is designed to be highly active and experiential, which means that you are working in student teams on real-world projects with real clients from our network of community and charity partners, producing

Our instructors however, are really our secret sauce: they are highly experienced, real world professionals, and you will work in an environment that offers an amazing student to instructor ratio of 6 to 1.

Do you have a payment plan?

Yes we do. You can either pay everything upfront, or you can pay 50% at the start of the program, and the remaining 50% over the duration of the program in three instalments. With the payment plan, there are some additional processing fees associated with setting this up.

Do you have a payment plan or any financing options?

Yes we do. After paying your deposit, there are two options:

1. The remainder of your tuition is paid in full 30 days prior to the term start date. Early bird discounts are available if you pay the first 50% within 60 days of the course start date.
2. The remainder of your tuition is paid in three instalments: 1/3 is paid 30 days prior to the start date of the term, 1/3 is paid on the term start date, and 1/3 is paid 30 days after the term start date. For part-time courses the financing option is +$100 and for full-time it’s +$300, with the fee attached to the first payment.

RED is an affiliate partner with GROW, a Vancouver based lending company that provides a specific type of loan for people that are looking for short-term technical training.
