Working at RED

As the newbie at RED Academy, I feel pretty capable of talking about what it’s like to work here and why someone would want to join this family. And yes, I said family – which is my first reason.

Family

First and foremost, this team is a family. Building a school from scratch with hundreds of students come and gone in just 8 months is nothing short of a miracle. And this team has been able to accomplish that because of the bond. Expect things like hugs, snacks, shout outs, supports, and a lot of laughs. It’s one of our core values and has been consistent since day one.

Innovation

Education has a stigma that we know about and are not down with. People think of teachers as being out of touch with the real stuff. The coolest thing about our program is that it is small, agile, and private enough to turn on a dime. If we hear that the market is calling for more knowledge of javascript, we get our students more javascript. Our instructors come out of industry and are trained to become amazing instructors. And while they’re here they are given the opportunity to continue to work in their craft and build amazing things. No stale skills here.

Impact

There is something universal about wanting to share your knowledge with people. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t love it. Getting the opportunity to help people kick start their career and open their eyes to a new industry is pretty magical. Sometimes it’s tough and bumpy, but mostly it’s exciting and fulfilling.

The list of reasons to join RED is long, but these 3 stand out to me after a very short period of time. Our team is bright, driven, and experts in their field. We are on the hunt for new instructors in all three of our disciplines: UX Design, Front End Web Development and Digital Marketing. With over 10 years full-circle marketing experience, working across multiple b2c and b2b campaigns, Holly brings her passion for digital marketing to the Red Academy.

Originally from the UK, Holly has worked in a wide varied of industries. From consumer campaigns like the world’s largest dog show Crufts, BBC Kids and live entertainment, right through to food and drink trade events, global telecommunications conferences and a worldwide shipping broker – proving that digital marketing can be applied successfully to any company, in any market.

Holly cycled the pacific coast from Vancouver to Tijuana blogging all the way and in London, was a singer in a band. You will still catch her cycling around the city and maybe even singing…
