Student Experience: Week 1 with Corey Leung
We have officially finished week 1 of the professional program, Corey Leung discusses his student experience so far at RED Academy in the Digital Marketing program.
I am excited to finally be at RED for the full time Digital Marketing program, as it has been something I have been thinking about for a while! Before RED, I completed the Bachelors of Commerce degree at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria and had been working for 18 months. My previous job before this program was as a Sales Analyst at a tech consulting firm. The work was fast paced and I learned a lot, but I realized pretty quickly that what I was most interested in was web analytics and marketing. The Digital Marketing & Strategy program at RED seemed to be the perfect way for me to get skills in those areas.
I was first introduced to RED by the Habit Course, which was hosted at RED. I felt comfortable with the facilities here almost immediately and I also loved the open atmosphere that was created by the people. This led me to looking into the programs further, which is how I stumbled upon the Digital Marketing program. The fun vibes and skills based learning within RED made it pretty clear from day one that this was not an ordinary school to be missed.
I am most excited to learn about Google Analytics and taking a deeper look into consumer behavior data that can be exported and analyzed. My instructors Katie and Holly have been amazing during my first week and, if this is any indication of what’s to come, then I am sure that I am in for another great 11 weeks!
