Find Your Place in Tech

Not sure on where you fit in tech? Our “Find Your Place in Tech” event will help you quickly get a feel for the three different types of jobs found in Tech. We’ll have a series of digital marketing, user experience design, and web development exercises to give you a sense of what it’d be like to pursue a career in those fields.
Intro to Digital Marketing Adwords

In this workshop you will learn: Understand the inner workings of AdWords including the bidding process and quality scores, Research keywords to target using Google’s Keyword Planner, Create your first ad groups, ads, and A/B split tests to begin advertising
Intro to HTML/CSS
March 29, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Join this free workshop to learn the basics of HTML and CSS, and create your first webpage from scratch! Topics discussed: what a mark-up language is and how HTML works on the web, how to write semantic HTML, including elements, attributes, and nesting, use basic HTML tags including headings, paragraphs, links, and lists, what CSS is in relation to HTML, and how to use CSS to adjust the way HTML looks on a webpage.
Intro to UX Design

User experience designers are in high-demand right now, but many people still don’t realize what UX Design is all about. In this free two hour workshop find out what a day in the life of a UX Designer is really like. Learn about what Information Architecture (IA) is and the many forms it takes, what impact the design of IA has on our lives, the correlation between IA and interface design, and how to conduct a card sort and how it informs the design of IA.
Intro to Digital Marketing and SEO
March 31, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
In this two-hour course, we’ll introduce you to the basics of SEO. In this free workshop you will learn how to figure out how you’re doing with SEO and analyze what keywords you are currently ranking for, about Google Keyword Planner and competitive analyses to research new search terms, and what it takes for implementation – match your keywords to your sitemap and execute your new SEO plan.

Originally from New-Caledonia, she joined the RED team where she uses her well-rounded set of skills and her background in fine arts & coding to fuel her strong enthusiasm for teaching UI & Communication Design.
Julie is passionate about thinking of innovative ways to leverage user-centric design at every possible moment - whether it's through her teaching, her design work, or while contributing to the betterment of her surroundings.
