RED Academy Toronto Grand Opening
Last night RED Academy Toronto officially opened it’s doors to over 200 guests with an incredible grand opening affair. After weeks of round-the-clock renovations and a tremendous amount of support, the finishing touches were applied before our guests arrived.
Visitors explored the new space, checking out classrooms and lounging in oversized beanbags. The student lounge turned bar was a hub of activity, as guests mingled and admired the industrial details and finishes.
Meanwhile, downstairs in the kitchen, food was definitely not in short supply. Sticking with the schoolhouse theme we kept it simple with after-school snack classics. There was delicious gourmet pizza, fresh baked pop tarts, and even a milk and cookie bar (with a few adult additions of course!)
Hand-drawn doodles on the whiteboard walls made for a great impromptu photo booth backdrop. Instax polaroid prints were collected as souvenirs and many found their way tacked onto the large cork wall for all to see.
Halfway through the evening RED co-founders Colin Mansell and Mandy Gilbert were joined by COO Matt Parson and Lead UX instructor Karina Daukaeva for an informative and inspiring presentation. They spoke passionately about RED’s mission and what RED can do for the tech sector and the world around us.
The entire school was buzzing with excitement, it became clear that this was the first of very many great times at RED Toronto. Shortly after 9:00pm the final few guests trickled out, grabbing candy apples on their way. It’s safe to say that everyone in attendance would agree that the long wait was definitely worth it. A big thank you to everyone who was involved in the RED Academy Toronto grand opening.
