Opportunity Knocks: Tech Teachers Needed
In less than three years, it’s expected that more than 182,000 positions in tech will need to be filled. And while the shortage of skilled workers is what caused our founders, Colin Mansell and Mandy Gilbert, to create a unique concept like RED Academy, we can’t do it alone. That’s why we need more industry professionals to help foster the next generation by becoming instructors.
“Vancouver is home to some of the world’s best coders, marketers, and entrepreneurs,” said Matt Parson, Director of RED Academy. “We need these leaders to share their knowledge and foster the next generation in order to keep our city on the map for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sought-after professionals.”
We will be adding a further 5,500 square feet square feet to our school on Broadway and Granville. After selling out all of our programs, the added space will help accommodate more students as well as launch exciting new programs in Web Development and Coding, Digital Marketing, and Visual and User Experience Design. Also in the works is a second school that’s set to open in Toronto this Spring.
“No one understands the needs of the job or the industry better than those who work directly in it, which is why RED instructors are all leading professionals from high-profile Vancouver tech companies,” Parson explains. “Thanks to their knowledge, our alumni were placed at some great local companies immediately after graduation, including Oak & Fort, Cossette, Telus Labs, Yellow Pages, 6S Marketing, Drive Digital, TBA, and Kabuni.”
At RED, we offer our own internal training team that specializes in developing instructors in the latest education approaches: active learning, project based, and real experience. Currently we are hiring:
