Introducing Canada’s First Full Stack Developer Program
Everyone has read the stats: no other job market is as fast paced and dynamic as tech. New tools and technologies are constantly being introduced and means that the modern workplace is a continuously changing arena. Now more than ever, companies are always looking for specific, multidisciplinary digital skillsets: enter, our new 6 month Full Stack programs – designed specifically by the academic team at RED to train our grads with these highly-sought after skills, the first programs of their kind in Canada.
From big corporations to small startups, the new 6 Month Full Stack Developer program has been designed specifically with input from current industry data, input from senior developers at some of Canada’s leading tech employers.
At RED, we strive to always be “radically relevant” and are continuously working to offer our students the very best education that gives them the competitive edge, and to foster Canada’s next generation of innovation through reinventing the way we approach tech education as a whole. The Full Stack program will create web and application developers that can truly meet the needs of today’s demanding tech sector.
Full Stack Web Developer: The Future Unicorn
So why are these Full Stack developers more valuable to employers?
It’s simple: they can do more. They can build complete products and allow a company to react faster; they have a greater level of expertise, that a company needs to stay ahead of today’s curve. A developer who knows both back-end and front-end technologies is one step ahead of the rest, and set you up with the full set of skills you need to excel in your role. In addition, from an employer’s point-of-view, it’s a considerable cost-savings to hire one person versus two or three staff to do the same work.
Students also gain exposure to relevant JS frameworks and libraries including Angular 2 and React. The second half of the Full Stack program focuses heavily on using React to build front-end user interfaces, with Node.js-powered back-ends using Express and Meteor.
Lastly, students will take their web-based JS skills and apply them to building cross-platform native mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native.
In addition, students receive continuous mentorship, are taught by leading industry experts, develop soft skills, and work on real projects to build their portfolios. Plus, they will be setting themselves up with the foundational knowledge to jump start their careers.
All in just six months.
